If you haven’t seen VJ Jem the Misfit’s visuals you should have! Jem has been in and around the Melbourne visual scene since 2007. She currently holds down residencies for Pitch (B):tch, Luxxe and BeatBoxx at Loop bar, Gradient at Miss Libertines, Almost Human at My Aeon and is a VJ for the visually focused Night Porter Thursdays hosted by Horse Bazaar.

Her roots as resident VJ for Electroluxxe – Wellington’s premier Electro club experience – have led her on to mix visuals for the likes of Glitch (UK), Pig Out (NZ), Angela Fisken (NZ), Kill me Dj (SYD) and DJ Phillipa (NZ) and perform at high profile festivals including Big Day Out, Rainbow Serpent and Splore (NZ).

Jem regularly tours with Dj Samari (LUXXE) to bring you a full sensory experience via their fully integrated audio and visual performance. The duo recently completed the highly successful Gun Metal Tour of NZ with another tour in the pipelines for later in 2010. As well as club based sets Jem and Samari have also performed at art’s festivals under their alter ego Duotone, including Gertrude Projection festival, Electundra and Intersect (NZ).

Jem the Misfit’s tightly woven style seamlessly integrates a mix of colour, tech and pop culture references with the nights audio. Her visuals suit a wide range of musical styles including but not exclusively: techno, minimal, electro, house, future beat, tropical house, ambient and sound scape.
