ERPHUN – FRIDAY 25 JUNE

Brown Alley in association with Mixed Messages, Luxxeparty & Gradient proudly present…

(air – fun)
In Farsi – It is the state and ability of being on a higher spiritual level.

Erphun on “TRANSITIONS” – with John Digweed

It may have been fate that Erphun’s very first gig was on Halloween, because his music is brooding, pounding, moody and transformative, as if from another realm entirely. His ability to build a mood is mesmerising and transports the listener to that alternate spiritual level that his moniker infers. Having spun around the US, Mexico and Canada at legendary clubs such as 1015 Folsom (San Francisco), Circus (Montreal), MINC (Dallas), Broadway (San Diego), Voodoo Lounge (Las Vegas), Risqu (Las Vegas, New Year’s Eve 2004), and the Shelbourne Hotel (Miami, Winter Music Conference), Erphun began to make his mark. Erphun’s music has been spun in clubs all over the world and is succinctly summed up by Steve Lawler as a “deep, dark and underground unique sound” that trademarks his pieces.

With releases on Viva Music, UMEK’s “1605”, Stephan Bodzin’s imprint, Herzblut, Fergie’s Excentric Muzik, Alan Fitzpatrick’s label 8 Sided Dice , Audio Therapy and more recently to John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, his name is now instantly recognizable among the tech-house, minimal, techno world of spinning producers who globe trot his compositions to be dropped on every conceivable audience. The reaction of the listener to his slow, driving builds that weave between the almost symphonic-like movements of each of his pieces is always jaw dropping and is usually followed by an exclamatory “SIIIIIICK!”.

Erphun is also a highly sought after re-mixer for artists who want to hear the 4AM version of their pieces. The only way to really experience this immense talent is to see him in action. A night of Erphun’s making heightens the listener’s musical aesthetic and aurally illustrates his personal musical vision.

Luxxe presents Danni B & Volta

Luxxe Party returns to Loop Bar on Friday May 28th to bring you not one but two of Melbourne’s finest female Dj’s.

Danni B while new to the Luxxe line up is a veteran of the Melbourne club scene and the respected creator of ‘Tickled Pink’ which currently enjoys a monthly residency at local clubbing hot spot La Di Da. Danni’s sound is best described as Chunky Minimal Tech House and we here at Luxxe Party are very excited to have this talented lady join us behind the decks.

Next up we welcome the return of our Eastern European friend Volta! We were so impressed with her last set at Luxxe we just had to ask her back for an encore. Volta brings style, grace and her own unique selection of floor grooving Tech-House to the party. Luxxe Party considers Volta a rising star of the Melbourne club scene and an act not to be missed.

In addition to this already stunning line up Samari and Rips will once again provide full audio support while Jem the Misfit mixes her killer visuals on the big screen.

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jem on her selection as Vj for Creamfields where she will be providing visuals for a number of massive international acts including Dave Clarke, Zoo Brazil, Joris Voorn and Riva Starr. Go Jem!

The party starts at 10pm with $10 cocktails all night long.

The Luxxe Crew.
