Samari’s “GUN METAL 2010″ mix

Samari’s most ground breaking mix to date. Covering the spectrum of hype dance, this 31 track monster includes his own production, loops, samples and re-edits including new tracks from MMM, Das Glow, Shadow Dancer and Zombie Nation. Spanning 1 hour and 10 minutes the mix is recorded in one hit, no post recording or effects added!

Check out what these DJ’s had to say about the mix:

Pocket Lipps – “Holy post-apocolyptic bass batman! Sick, glitchy, low slung bass action peppered with gun samples and bad-assness.”

Perspexx – “A master of a piece”

Rips – “What a stormer! The beast rocks from start to finish and the blending is spot on. Great work!”

ERPHUN – FRIDAY 25 JUNE

Brown Alley in association with Mixed Messages, Luxxeparty & Gradient proudly present…

(air – fun)
In Farsi – It is the state and ability of being on a higher spiritual level.

Erphun on “TRANSITIONS” – with John Digweed

It may have been fate that Erphun’s very first gig was on Halloween, because his music is brooding, pounding, moody and transformative, as if from another realm entirely. His ability to build a mood is mesmerising and transports the listener to that alternate spiritual level that his moniker infers. Having spun around the US, Mexico and Canada at legendary clubs such as 1015 Folsom (San Francisco), Circus (Montreal), MINC (Dallas), Broadway (San Diego), Voodoo Lounge (Las Vegas), Risqu (Las Vegas, New Year’s Eve 2004), and the Shelbourne Hotel (Miami, Winter Music Conference), Erphun began to make his mark. Erphun’s music has been spun in clubs all over the world and is succinctly summed up by Steve Lawler as a “deep, dark and underground unique sound” that trademarks his pieces.

With releases on Viva Music, UMEK’s “1605”, Stephan Bodzin’s imprint, Herzblut, Fergie’s Excentric Muzik, Alan Fitzpatrick’s label 8 Sided Dice , Audio Therapy and more recently to John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, his name is now instantly recognizable among the tech-house, minimal, techno world of spinning producers who globe trot his compositions to be dropped on every conceivable audience. The reaction of the listener to his slow, driving builds that weave between the almost symphonic-like movements of each of his pieces is always jaw dropping and is usually followed by an exclamatory “SIIIIIICK!”.

Erphun is also a highly sought after re-mixer for artists who want to hear the 4AM version of their pieces. The only way to really experience this immense talent is to see him in action. A night of Erphun’s making heightens the listener’s musical aesthetic and aurally illustrates his personal musical vision.

Luxxe presents Pocket Lipps (Amsterdam)

Coming up at Luxxe Party on Friday 26th February, we welcome direct from Amsterdam – Pocket Lipps! Plus the return of local legend Jimmy Ryan.

Pocket Lipps Bio:

Pocket Lipps has over 10 years experience in playing grimey clubs, sweaty dive bars, alternative radio, your mates dodgy wedding and even decked out abandoned ships of war. He plays an eclectic mix of deep jacking tropical electro varieties, future garage, UK funky, and whatever is going to force you to do that really unattractive face you make when you really like a tune.

Jimmy Ryan Bio:

Jimmy Ryan began spinning Vinyl in 2005 and took out the Q-Bar DJ competition which lead to his first residency alongside Nick Coleman in 2007 with Hired Goons. Playing a darker side of tech-house and upbeat techno Jimmy moved onto residencies and guest spots at some of Melbournes biggest clubs including Two Floors Up, Roxanne Parlour, La Di Da, Brown Alley, Wah Wah Lounge, FFour, Revolver and 161 to name a few. Having supported the likes of Daniel Drier, Shades of Grey, Mar-T, Murat Kilic, Tom Clark, Deep as Funk and Tim Richards, Jimmy continues to push an upbeat sound that will always be quirky.

Along side our international guest are Residents Samari and Rips with VJ Jem the Misfit, kicking it off from 10PM with $10 Cocktails all night long.
